Married an Ada Rogers? Looks like he died prior to 1910, but after 1905?  In the 1910 census, Ada James is living in Red Bay, Franklin, Alabama, and says she's a widow: https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MKQK-426. Their youngest child was born in May of 1906.

Son of PVT. William A. James (5 Feb 1836 AL – 14 Jan 1912 AL), and Mary E. Pace (13 Oct 1838 AL – 2 Jan 1882 AL)

Education: Russellville high school, attended the State Normal College at Florence 1894-1895, and Entered the law office of Almon & Bullock at graduation.  

Dec 1895 • Alabama - Married Ada Rogers (1876 – 1937), daughter of Daniel Mortimer Rogers and Rebecca Malinda Stone.

1896 • Russellville, Franklin, Alabama, USA - Admitted to the bar by Chancellor Simpson, had a private practice until 1903 when he moved to the firm of Bullock & James

1898 • Franklin County, Alabama, USA - Appointed as the County Solicitor, for a term expiring in 1904; Served as the chairman of the Democratic county committee from 1898 -1902

1902 • Alabama, USA - Elected to the legislature, the first Democratic representative for nearly twenty-five years.
