Have you registered for the 2020 Source-a-Thon yet? [closed]

Registration is now closed.

October 2 - October 5 — the start of Family History Month — is our fifth annual "Source-a-Thon"!

This three-day event is for a good cause (sourced genealogy!), there will be lots of door prizes donated from around the genealogy community, and it will be lots of fun.

The marathon starts Friday, October 2 at 8 AM (ET) and ends Monday, October 5, 8 AM (ET) but you don't need to participate the whole time (!). If you can join for any of it, please post an ANSWER below saying either the team you'd like to be on (see the team list) or your genealogical interests or geographic location and we'll assign a team before the start of the event.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a small piece of software dealing with this registration? Instead of using a FAQ system?

I'm registred as #489 but there is no sign of my participation anywhere. Not in the team I signed up (Spic-n-Span Scandinavians; I added my-self on that page but doesn't seem to change anything) and not showing up in the tracking lists. Feels a little bit left out...

If you are serious Chris, post a G2G question asking if anyone is interested in joining an italian team, and get them to leave an answer if they are.

Then register a team name with Eowyn or Julie Ricketts. Eowyn is away for her grandmothers funeral right now, so this probably wont be completed until next week - but there is no reason not to get things started right?

I am using my memories of starting up the Kiwi Crew team back in 2017 - 3 years ago!!

I would like to contribute to the Canada team, but may find U.S. connections since so many early immigrants migrated south.

Well, Mighty Maple Leafs does all of Canada while the Nor'Easters does Atlantic Canada and New England. Besides, most teams allow you to wander afield anyway.

Well, it does help to specify as there are actually TWO teams working in Canada although Nor'Easters gets forgotten often as they listed them under US. But I'm sure default will be maple leafs unless you say otherwise.

Yes, of course.  In the past, I have been wanting to be Nor'Easter, but as I am in BC now, I tend to wander the country (source wise) rather than focus.  So yes, gladly will be a member of Mighty Maple Leafs.

Might need a reminder closer to the date though :)
