Have you registered for the 2020 Source-a-Thon yet? [closed]

Registration is now closed.

October 2 - October 5 — the start of Family History Month — is our fifth annual "Source-a-Thon"!

This three-day event is for a good cause (sourced genealogy!), there will be lots of door prizes donated from around the genealogy community, and it will be lots of fun.

The marathon starts Friday, October 2 at 8 AM (ET) and ends Monday, October 5, 8 AM (ET) but you don't need to participate the whole time (!). If you can join for any of it, please post an ANSWER below saying either the team you'd like to be on (see the team list) or your genealogical interests or geographic location and we'll assign a team before the start of the event.

Wouldn't it be nice to have a small piece of software dealing with this registration? Instead of using a FAQ system?

I'm registred as #489 but there is no sign of my participation anywhere. Not in the team I signed up (Spic-n-Span Scandinavians; I added my-self on that page but doesn't seem to change anything) and not showing up in the tracking lists. Feels a little bit left out...

The bib # is just for fun. On the Challenge Tracker for the Source-a-Thon, you'll use your profile ID, not the bib #.

It also gives instructions on how to use your bib # in different places.

Not actually sure what to do with my hat...  I so see Steve's instructions about "bib image"  Do I want to follow those?

The hat is just a bit of fun, as is the Wombat Wizard.

Some folk stick the image on their profiles.  I use it in posts for 'Thons, when I remember to do so. 

I have my bib on my profile, but I'm not sure I followed those instructions.  I guess it depends on how much you like profile "bling".

I also use the hat giving as a marker of where I have reached for reporting to Kathleen.  Between us we keep tally to match against the official list of names, to make sure we don't miss anyone.
