Should I Add Primary Category as well as State Category for a Name Study?

I have started a One Name Study for the Giem surname. I add a State category to all the profiles I work on. Should I also add the master category, Giem Name Study, to the profiles so I have a list of all the profiles I have included in the study and won't have to go separately to each state category?

Sure you can do that.

What I usually do is to add the sticker {{One Name Study|name=XXX}} which adds the main study cat, then I add the other category separately, such as [[Category:State, XXX Name Study]]. I also eventually broke down some states into counties, and in that case, I use the county cat instead of the state cat, i.e. [[Category:County, State, XXX Name Study]].
