Adding attachments or documents to a profile?.

Question

My Grandfather wrote about his lifes experiences before he died, I have typed this up as a MS Word doc'..how can I now add it to his profile?...can I add scanned bith/death certs to ancsetors profiles?

You can add scans, which are treated as photos, under the photo link near the top right of a profile page.

I would approach text in one of two ways: 1) Paste the text into the boigraphy section, or 2) convert the Word document to a TIFF file (Save As) and add those files as photos.

 Hope this helps. Others may have other suggestions.

Sandi is right, except that TIFF isn't one of our accepted file formats. An image needs to be a GIF, JPG, or PNG. They can also be Adobe PDF docs.

Paul, you might think about OCR'ing and/or transcribing some of the doc and adding it as text in the bio. That will make it easier for people to see it quickly and makes it better "cousin bait" for the search engines.
