Profile with multiple duplicate children

I am looking at an 18th century Shreve family profile with multiple duplicate children and no sources but ancestry trees.  There needs to be multiple merges and I don't feel comfortable doing that. I need help sorting this out.

I'm not so sure those profiles are duplicates. After comparing just a few of them with same names but different dates and places, alarm bells are going off.
I agree Patricia, especially as 2 Williams born same year different states.

It all gets back to appropriate sources required!
I agree, locations all over the place. Sources should help straighten it out, then merges or connection changes can be made.

At first glance, it's probably a conflated profile.

I looked at the children; at least for the Williams you can go ahead and propose merges for them.....all 3 never grew to adulthood. If you need help let me know ok?

That is not the way to go, if they are different people they should not be merged. Sourcing is the way to sort it.
These profiles are suggesting that the merge of the parent profile may have mixed two different families, so really do need to start sourcing, starting with those three wives, and their children, to determine who is who, before any more merging is done.
