Oliver Woodward was an Australian metallurgist, mine manager and ANZAC, noted for his tunnelling activities at the Ypres Salient during the First World War. Oliver was portrayed by Brendan Cowell in the 2010 film, Beneath Hill 60, which admirably described the work and risks taken by Oliver and his men. He later helped to make the Broken Hill Mines the success story they are. He is one of just two Aussies to be awarded the Military Cross and two Bars (further awards of the Military Cross).
Oliver married Marjorie Waddell on 3rd September 1920, one hundred years ago today. Any help in getting Oliver connected to celebrate this date will be greatly appreciated.
