Last year when I used Ancestry to create my family tree I traced up through Albert Albertzen Terhune (Terhune-1) as my 9th great-grandfather. What I am seeing in WikiTree for my 5th, 6th and 7th great-grandfathers does not agree with what I researched. I believe that Stephen Terhune (Terhune-36) had a son, Albert Terhune born in 1708, who was my 6th great-grandfather. He married Maretje Martesse (aka Maritje Martese) in 1723 and their 5th son, Guiliam Terhune (1736-1785), was my 5th great-grandfather. The book that I used for following this lineage was Henry B. Hoff. "Genealogies of Long Island Families. From The New York Genealogical and Biographical Record." Baltimore, Maryland: Genealogical Publishing Co., Inc, 1987. Volume II, pp. 134-143. Other sources were: "New Jersey Births and Christenings, 1660-1980", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FZZ8-KTL : 14 February 2020), Guliaem Ter Heun, 1736. (shows christening on 10 Oct 1736 at Dutch Reformed Church Hackensack, Bergen, New Jersey) "New Jersey Births and Christenings, 1660-1980", database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:H78T-S7PZ : 18 January 2020), Guiliaem Ter Heun, 1736. (shows birth 1735) [https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/190446093/giliam-terhune Find A Grave] Although Stephen Terhune has a profile on WikiTree it appears that neither Guiliam nor Albert (born 1708) have profiles. I am new to WikiTree and would appreciate your help in correcting and completing my branch of the Terhune family tree.
