Was Ignacio Ferreira of Jewish descent?

What is the possibility of Ignacio Leopold (Ignatius Leopold) "Ignatiua Leipold (Ignazio Leopoldt") Ferreira aka Perreira (baptised 1 Nov 1695 in Alcântara, Lisbon, Portugal) being of Jewish descent? Or, that he may have been a "New Christian", "Marrano" or "Crypto-Jew" (following the Edict of Expulsion that was issued by the Catholic Monarchs of Spain in 1492). Perreira/Ferreira may also be Portuguese. Both Portugal and Spain had Jewish and Muslim (Moorish) populations who were expelled. Some Jews and Muslims converted to Christianity so that they could stay in Spain or Portugal. King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella were made rich by the expulsion of the Muslim (Moorish) population. This gave them the money to fund Christopher Columbus.

It is Portugese - on the profile the proof can be seen on the baptism image. The question is though, seeing what we already know about the circumstances of the times (inquisition and the expulsion of other faiths), is this person from Jewish descent?

Philip: I read your Research Notes. They are very informative. It may be that the Da Costa family was Jewish, I took a look at Ignacio Leopold's maternal grandmother, Maria Peres. Due to the matrilineal descent of Judaism, and due to the fact Peres may be a Jewish name, I think his family was Jewish.

According to the Wikipedia page for Peres at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peres, "Peres, Perez, and Peretz are the transliteration of the Hebrew פרץ son of Tamar and Judah."
