can't find this grave marker symbol online, any help (top r/h corner of stone) looks like CFO

Top right hand corner?  All I can see is a lot of grass and the top LEFT hand corner...

The left corner is a Mason symbol, so perhaps the right is related.

I, too, think it is Masonic. I think what you're seeing as a "C" is the Masonic "G." I also think what you're seeing as an "F" is not but is an "R." Where was this person from? Could it be a symbol for the Masonic "grand jurisdiction" (state or country) in which he lived? The other thing I've considered is if that central letter is an "R" this is a symbol for someone who is a member of the "Royal Arch Masons" but I haven't found any symbols for that group which look like this one.

Definitely a C F O

The guy was a railroad conductor, so maybe it is related to that, or is related to some other fraternal order.  (It's NOT Oddfellows that I can discover -- they use IOOF and chain links.)

There were "brotherhoods" of Masonic railroad workers, so that would fit with the Masonic "G" on the outer rim and the "R" in the center.

No matter how hard I try, I cannot make that F look like an R, or turn the C into a G.  (The G on the left corner is very clear, and the right corner letter looks nothing like it.)

Melanie, I tried to add some color to show you what I'm seeing in these intertwined letters. Not saying I'm right, necessarily, just that this is what I see... But after reading what C-H wrote about the railroad connection, I wonder if it could be the logo for a railroad. I don't think it's the logo for the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy (I just looked that up), but perhaps it is the logo for something else connected with the railroad, like "Conductors of Railroad" or some such (which would account for you seeing the "C" and me seeing the "R.") You're right, nothing about this emblem is as clear as what is elsewhere on the stone.

Wikipedia says there was a "Fraternal Order of Colonials" in the mid-west, so maybe that's it.  I couldn't find anything more on the organzation.
