I am Paul A Smith from Yorkshire, England and have been researching my ancestry for several years, with some measure of success smiley I have found three other siblings to add to the four I knew of. (oh what a complicated life we lead). I am now in the process of inputting my findings into WikiTree with the emphasis on facts. My extended family grows day by day.

Hope you post your ancestors, so you can connect to the "big tree."

You don't mention what name/s you are researching/adding.  Some of my folk are from Yorkshire - and one line is so prolific there I have started referring to the County as Scholefieldshire!  cheeky

Paul,

I have Hemenway and Wetherbee surname ancestors from York. What surnames in addition to Smith, do you have in your ancestors?

I have Hughes from Shropshire and Noddle from East Riding of Yorkshire as direct ancestors. smiley

My Hewes are a spelling variant of Hughs. There is a free site, surnamedb.com that has some background information about the Hughs surname. It's said to be of French origins and derives from pre 7th century personal name "Hue."

It sounds like you have a fair amount of family history info. You might be able to show a few generations of your tree. Parents, grandparents, great grandparents and so on.

I am gradually adding my previous generations. smiley

Don't be reluctant to ask questions.
Thank you Frank, I will keep that in mind.
