Peter Kokot (aka Kokott, Cocot, Kokat...) was born in a small village near Jastrebarsko in Croatia. I found a passenger record on Ellis island passenger search web site, where he is mentioned. There it says that he was born in 1866, but I'm pretty sure that it is a mistake. I checked in the church books, and he is the only one who was born about 1860-es (28 oct 1861) in that village with that name. I would like to find more pieces of information about his life in the USA. Here is the passenger record (text):
First Name: Peter
Last Name: Kokot
Nationality: Hungary, Hungarian
Last Place of Residence: Kostanjevac
Date of Arrival: May 26th, 1892
Age at Arrival: 26y
Gender: Male
Ship of Travel: Waesland
Port of Departure: Antwerp
Manifest Line Number: 0127
His parents were Juraj (George) and Marija (Mary) Kokot. He had four brothers: Franjo (Frank - 1860), Josip (Joseph - 1871), Juraj (George - 1875) and Pavle (Paul - 1877). He married Jela Humjan in Croatia (Hellen; Humian, Umian, Umyan), 1889. They had a lot of children, I am not sure exactly how much, but I know that they had sons Mijo (Mio, Mike? - 1891), Petar (Peter - 1895) and Josip (Joseph - 1912), who were all born there in Croatia. His wife Jela died in Croatia in 1950-ies. He probably died earlier, because she was nine years younger (born 1870). That's basicly it. Please help!
