Hi all, I’m the second son of two Lithuanian displaced persons that after ww2 moved to the UK where I was born in 1951, Nottingham the land of Robin Hood.
Family emigrates to the land of Oz in 1965, this is my family and that is all I knew, mum dad and 3 boys.
1995 I begin to show a serious interest in my heritage as mum is now gone and unknowingly dad is around for only two more years. So a tree has begun. Paternal side is large and from the major research of Lithuanian cousins I have a 6th g grandparent.
My maternal side poses a dilemma, no one to turn to. Records from Arolsen, ITS, Australian archives shed little light. A contact through social media, there is a DNA relative but we cannot locate our most recent common ancestor. Now the search intensifies with new vigour.
