The two profiles appear to be the same though one has the old Dutch name for the city intead of Brooklyn.  If posible, they need to be merged

Tagging the project might facilitate a solution.

Or not. The merge has apparently been "under review" since February 2019.

In fact, the profiles have been in Category:New Netherland Settlers Project Needs Merge Conflict Resolution since 2017. That category was applied because these two profiles have completely different sets of ancestors (different fathers, both named Pieter Staats, both of whom are connected to parents). This is also why both profiles have a Merge Conflict section above the Biography that names the competing fathers.

Research is needed to figure out which line of descent this man belongs to.

It is true that only a Leader can remove the PPP that currently prevents the merge, but any member could research the families, edit the profiles to include the sourced information they have found, and report the evidence they find that points to one father or the other (if such is found) or ask for advice on interpreting the evidence.

Yes, any member could but no member has. Tagging the project probably won't change this. But it might.

Guess what: I am the Project Leader for this project.
Then you are doubtless the best-placed person to answer this question.
