I have an ancestor William Colville of Lesnessock and Tradigal, originally from Ayrshire who settled in Campbeltown. I cannot figure out where Lesnessock and Tradigal is. When I google it I just get Colvilles

Here's a map:

It's right in the middle, written with long Ss

I’m dumb. I still can’t figure out where that is on a modern map.
Based on a book on Ayrshire cattle I think it’s in Ochiltree, which would make sense.
Ochiltree is what I got.

On the old map it is located about halfway between Vchiltre [=Ochiltree] Castle and Drongan. That would place it roughly here on Google Maps

This is helpful.  It will help me link this Colville to the clan that originally had a castle at Ochiltree.
