A DNA Question [closed]

It shows on the Slocum-10 (Giles Slocum) that no known carriers of his Y chromosome have taken a YDna test. Could you compare Hough-2796 to Slocum-10 as I think this is an error.

Thank you in advance,

Mark Hough

The profile also says near the bottom of the biography that Y-chromosome DNA tests have shown that Giles Slocum was related to Anthony Slocum. So the text "No known carriers of Giles's Y-chromosome ... have taken yDNA  ... tests" should really say something like, "no Wikitree members agnate to Giles are known to have tested their Y-DNA."

laughOFF-sides, thank you Barry, had to google "agnate" and have a new one-word-to-say-many word

AGNATE is a person descended from the same male ancestor as another specified or implied person, especially through the male line. "the heir will be the nearest agnate"

Counterpart is enate. I learned those words for Scrabble, but they're very handy in genealogy too!

You seem to be descended from Slocum-10 through a female (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Slocum-1442) so you will not be a carrier of his Y chromosome.

I asked a question I knew the answer to. I really messed up on that one. Should have hit the snooze on my alarm clock....

Thanks,
