Hi,

My ancestor William Hawkins is giving me a small headache. I would very much like to confirm his parents. He was born in 1749, most likely Devon, England (I think). Lived in Harrison County, VA. It's so confusing because there are a couple of well known William Hawkins born the same year an also in Virginia. I believe he was married to Elizabeth Bourne. His son Oliver was my 5gg. Oliver was married to Nancy Anne Jones.

It would help if you could add family to Wikitree, with sources, so we can get hints as to where to look.

Have you tried familysearch.org? It is free to register and to use.

For your Headache, I found one ‘William Hawkins m 1790, Elizabeth Bourne, dau of Andrew and Jane (Morton); rem(oved) to Jessamine Co., KY,  Gillmore, p. 91.’

This is found in Marriages of some Virginia Residents, 1607-1800, Dorothy Ford Wulfeck, Volume I (A-H). Seven volumes in two.  LOCCN 85-81171, ISBN 0-8063-1139-8.

This should get you started with your tree on wikitree.com,where you can add to your family.

Andrew Bourne's will in Culpeper County Virginia WB C page 357, dated 22 August 1788, proved 18 January 1790.

Item, I give and bequeath unto the children of my daughter Elizabeth Hawkins deceased, James & Winny & increase to them and their heirs forever.

Jessamine County Kentucky DB Page 328, 27 February 1808.

John Hawkins, Benjamin Hawkins, James Hawkins, Polly Barnett, John Barnett, Willis Hawkins, Sally Hawkins, children of Elizabeth Hawkins the daughter of Andrew Bourne of Culpeper County, Virginia, to our brother Moses Hawkins our legal attorney to recover slaves let us by our grandfather Andrew Bourne.
Thanks, that means we concur.  Glad to help.
