Family lineage

My great grandfather was Robert Kirkpatrick Mearns, in his obituary of 19 November, 1913, in the Evening Journal of Wilmington, Delaware; it states he had four siblings, Marietta Mearns Derrickson ( husband Phineas), Martha W. Mearns, Annie Mearns Bramall, and James H. Mearns. Listed above are a James and Ann, are they of the same family, I don’t know, but would so appreciate finding if there is a connection. Any help would be invaluable and greatly appreciated.

The gang's all here minus James in 1910. Pretty sure that's the first time I have come across four geriatric siblings livning together with no spouses or children.

"United States Census, 1910," database with images, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MGDZ-QV4 : accessed 9 September 2020), Robert Mearns in household of Marietta M Derrickson, Chester Ward 7, Delaware, Pennsylvania, United States; citing enumeration district (ED) ED 112, sheet 6A, family 124, NARA microfilm publication T624 (Washington D.C.: National Archives and Records Administration, 1982), roll 1339; FHL microfilm 1,375,352.

looks like he fought in the Civil War with 1st Delaware Infantry as a private. filed for pension as an invalid in 1890 and appears to have died in 1923.

here they are in 1850. Mom appears to be Elizabeth and probably widowed. Robert was born in New Jersey like his older siblings. His father was from Ireland and his mother from Scotland.

Can’t begin to thank you enough for opening the door to my family. My mom threw away all the old books and papers that recorded the history.
