Please don't change formatting of private letters.

I have written several private letters to toher Wikitree users with very complicated information about confusing genealogical puzzles.  I use spacing and carriage returns to display the information in an understandable format.  It seems that your program removes all extra spaces and carriage returns.  This makes the messages MUCH harder to read and savesa trivial amount of web capacity.

Please stop!

Are you talking about Private Messages? Or maybe bulletin board comments on profiles?

Either way, it's true that they're functionally rather limited. But they're really not intended for deep, complex organization or communication. It's better to use actual WikiTree profiles.

Also, once you've communicated with someone once, or are on the same Trusted List with them, you have their e-mail address and can communicate directly. The Private Message system isn't meant to be a replacement for e-mail. It's just a way to protect your e-mail address while allowing people to get ahold of you.

Do you mean you are sending emails directly to others? Are you cutting and pasting your work from a word processing program, like Word?

I think the easiest way to eliminate this problem in any case, would be to save your work in a less editable format like PDF, and send or post it that way.
