Please: Could someone explain why some of the early English Chamberlayne/Chamberlain family (pre-1500) have been created without sources?
I cannot edit these profiles, because I am not pre-1500 certified as yet, but the person who created these profiles in the first place (back in 2013) has only used an Ancestry link to support the profiles. How was this possible with pre-1500 certification, or was the pre-1500 certification rule brought in after 2013?
Something which many rely on, the Early Chamberlain Family website; (the Australian owner, Ian Chamberlain, may have died - at least the e-mail contact address no longer works, and he appears to have no more internet presence) relies heavily on Burke, who is in error as regards the Chamberlaynes from Chamberlain-1467 down to Sir Thomas Chamberlayne of Prestbury, and in any case there is a broken connection between the profiles.
I have been doing extensive research into the Chamberlaynes and would love to update and correct several glaring errors in these profiles, but I cannot do so.
I can see, however, that at least one of the profiles is now included in the Magna Carta Project. That's great. Would love to be involved here and to share what I have found, for what it's worth.
Thanks.
