One of my father's Aunts married a Friedrich Wilhelm Gormann, born 18825 in Australia. His father was Johann Gormann, born 1845 in Turnow, Germany. I have some background information on this family, if it is of any value to your project.?

I can't find my original comment on this project, and I have not yet entered any family details relating to my Gormann connection here in Australia [note different spelling@!!].However the following is a brief summary of my knowledge of the family.  I don't know if this is of any value to your project, but forward it, in case!

Friedrich Wilhelm Gormann [1882-1964], born in Australia, married Isabella Mabel Kirk [1888-1941], a sister to my grandfather, William James Kirk.

His father was Johann Gormann [1845-1924], born in Turnow, Germany, moved to Australia with his family as a child between 1850-1853, married  in 1864 in South Australia to Maria Proposch [1843-1931].

His father was Johann Gormann [1824-1858], born in Turnow Germany, married  in Germany to Anna Bosson 1825-1909]  in Germany. Had 6 children, first 3 born in Germany, the others in South Australia, so came to Australia between 18/2/1850 and 4/4/1853. Died 1858 in South Australia.

His father was Georg Gormann [1788  -  ] born in Turnow, Germany, married in 1820 to Lisa Leback.  Died in Germany.

Haven't found a SA record for Friedrich born in 1882. Was he born in Victoria?

Cheers Bill. There weren't any Wikitree profiles with surname Gormann in Australia.
