Hi,

In the 1851 census link

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/browse/view.aspx?dbid=8860&iid=SRYHO107_1567_1567-0864&pid=793988&ssrc=&fn=Ruth&ln=Neris&st=g it says he is born in Lindfield Sussex

the "of London" on his marriage only implies he had lived there for more than 4 weeks!

Sorry I don't have access to these records on line.

But you can order the film from the LDS

link

https://familysearch.org/search/catalog/results#count=20&query=%2Bplace%3A%22England,%20Sussex,%20Lindfield%22&subjectsOpen=430963-50

Hope this helps
