Brick Wall: Ancestors of Samuel A. Hilliard b Errol NH 1865

Sam was born in Errol, New Hampshire in 1865--which at the time had a very small population and does not seem to have kept records).  His parents are listed as Geo. and Jane Hilliard and both deceased at the time of his marriage to Lucy Ann Thompson in 1895. But I have no other information about George or Jane.

Thanks, I had found that record, but was hoping for more detail so I could add them to WikiTree with dates and a maiden name for Jane.
There may be a resourceful person at WikiTree who will be able to sleuth out Jane's maiden name.

From the differences you have found in the census records it is possible there are 2 Samuels, one born New Hampshire the other Maine. I haven’t found records either way.

Yes, Thanks.
I found those same inconsistencies in the two marriage records.
I've been unable to find any other records for John or Jane in NH or thereabouts in 1865 or for the time between 1830 and 1850.
I found one George age 14 son of James and Susan in the 1860 census (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:33S7-9BSC-9L3D?i=2&cc=1473181&personaUrl=%2Fark%3A%2F61903%2F1%3A1%3AM7WL-1XL).  He would have been 19 when Sam was born. He also appears in the 1870 census (https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:MWZ6-FJG).
I'm looking for any kind of corroboration for the truth of Sam's parentage.
