Gedcom first upload, what size and type?

Should my first Gedcom upload be 100 persons or less?

Should it be a pedigree or descendant extract from my very large tree in FTM and on Ancestry?

As is said if you must load a gedcom be prepared to then profile by profile gedcompare until the entire gedcom has been examined to determine if there are any duplicate profiles in the gedcom matching any at WT ... and there's a few steps more

So, yes, we suggest that you load 50 or less profiles and as is said "doing it by hand" one profile at a time rather than loading and comparing and cleaning and sourcing and whatever else is involved in a gedcom ... Help:GEDCOM and  Help:GEDCOMpare

laughDon't forget that sources are important  Genealogically Defined will guide you toward the minimal amount of sourcing that any one profile would need at WT

If you must do it 50 would be good max.

Personally having done one, I won’t ever do it again. Too much trouble. Easier to add one at a time, and in no time you could be finding connections!
