How do I search WikiTree from my Wordpress site?

+1 vote
I have a genealogy website dedicated to Rowland surname.  It is a WordPress site with a standard site search box.  However, I would like to provide another search box that loads the first and last names into the WikiTree search box, which then displays a list of the associated profiles at/on WikiTree (I'm not looking to have results displayed on my site).

I believe the technical description of what I need is the html that takes the "first" and "last" name fields from a form on my site, then populates the WikiTree "First Name" and "Last Name" fields in the WkiTree search box on the WikiTree site.

If there is already such a widget, that would be wonderful.

I'm not sure how Wordpress is set up, but you can send the first and last name to the WikiTree search form doing something like this:

<form action="" method="POST">
  <input name="wpFirst">
  <input name="wpLast">

Where whatever is entered into the input with name "wpFirst" is filled in the first name box, and whatever is entered into the input with the name "wpLast" is filled in the last name box when you press the search button.

Excellent!!!  Thank you Jamie.

I thought I was going to have to add code to create the name entry fields, but this does it automatically.

One more request: how do I get it to automatically push the "search" button on WikiTree after it populates the name fields?

You probably need a sysops tag added
