New member introducing myself

Hello,

My name s Rhonda Lee-Morris. The sir names I’m most interested in are the Stephens from Arkansas, the Lees from Tennessee, and the Simmons and Blackburns from Tennessee. I was very good at listening to my grandparents stories as a child and am interested to see how much of that is reality. I believe the Lee name came from an illegitimate child, Charles, son of Daniel, who may have been of mixed race out of the Louisiana area. The family stories stop with Charles during the civil war. He refused to ever acknowledge his family prior to arriving in TN as a Confederate POW.

I am a Lee from New York. Fannie Blackburn was my Great Grandmother.Henry Churchill Blackburn was her Father. Just wondering if we are the same family.

Rhonda I see I do have one Blackburn in my family tree. Tabitha J. Blackburn 1818-1871 married to my 2C6R Joseph Ogle Whiteside 1811-1875.  Do you by chance show them in your family line?

Welcome to Wikitree Rhonda. I'm sure it will be quite a revelation looking into those old stories. The family stories are what prompted my father to look into his family history - most turned out to be true. I'm so glad he researched them as it has given me a wealth of information to work with and from.

Rhonda yes it is fun to hunt out our relatives and learn more about them and the times they went through. I heard stories from my grandmothers, and my parents. Unfortunately I was too small to hear any from my great grandparents other than those handed down by others.

My name is Wendal Lee Jr., From south Carolina. I have cousins with the last name Stevens. Unfortunately I know very little of my father's side of the family. My dad just turned 82 today!
