No but I have European ancestors/relatives who emigrated to Brasil.  I am not sure if they had any descendants?

Hi - I have Latin roots.  My great grandmother was Chilean (Amerindian) and my great grandfather Argentinian (Anglo). I’m interested in joining the project and would love to learn about resources for tracing my family lines in South America.

Hi Andrew,

Welcome to the project! If you can send me your email (you have mine now) I can get you added to the pages and send more information.

Mindy

Hi Mindy,

I don't seem to have your email -

Regards,

Andrew

Edited to remove email

You should have received an email when I responded to you. Hopefully your email didn't sort me into a junk folder laugh

Hi Mindy - I received an email (then and now) but it is from a do not reply WikiTree address.
My email does that with member messages sometimes too, Andrew. It says no response, but if you click on 'reply' it should fill in the actual email of the sender.

Hi Mindy,

I'm sorry that I didn't reply to this, its been a while... my email is bethmuir64@gmail.com.

I was looking for a response on this page regarding Costa Rican ancestry, but can't find it. Could it have been deleted?

I'm not sure how I can contribute, but have found quite a few of my son's Costa Rican ancestors, but would like to understand more about it, how his mix of ancestry made it to Costa Rica.

Hope you are doing well,

Beth Muir

My immediate family is from Puerto Rico. I have traced my maternal roots to the Canary Islands and am in the process of doing additional research to see where in Spain they came from.  In addition there seems to be afro latino heritage in the 1800s and back, possibly part of the black spanish militia in the 1700s.  My paternal side have Taino roots. My great grandmother has been said to be Taino. In addition i also think there may have been Spanish roots in the early 1700s or past.  I am currently  researching my ancestral heritage. I am fascinated by all the ethnicities that have combined to form the Latin community of today.

My mother is from Costa Rica. I have not entered any of my CR family yet, but plan to this month. Not sure how much volunteer work I can take on, but would like to join the group.

FYI  23andme has done a big push in Costa Rica over the past three (3) years. Seems there is real interest there. Many 3rd and 4th cousins on the app.
