On familysearch.org (a free site) there is also a Thomas b1815 baptised in Chapel le Firth, Devonshire. You might like to check the site out.

Many thx, there are various records,,so many I’m still not sure if they are

Samuel and Sarah or William and Mary?
If he was born in Moston, Lancashire (ie Manchester area), I'm not sure how Devon will be relevant?

On the lan-opc (Lancashire OnLine Parish Clerk website) there are three baptisms for a Thomas Sidebottom with search parameters 1815 +/- 5.

27 March 1814 at St Lawrence Denton Lancashire; Thomas son of Henry and Harriet Sidebotham (born 20 Feb 1814) of Haughton, occupation Cotton Spinner.

15 March 1818 at Old St George, Stalybridge, Lancashire; Thomas Hadfield Sidebottom son of Edward and Mary Sidebottom, of Rasbottom, occupation Spinner.

and

5 February 1815 at St Peter Blackley, Lancashire, Thomas Sidebotham son of Thomas and Mary Sidebotham, of Moston, occupation Weaver.

I am assuming that as you have Sarah's maiden name you have seen her marriage on 19 June 1836 to Thomas.

Also on this website are two baptisms for children of Thomas and Sarah :- Joseph baptised 15 October 1848 at St James, Birch in Rusholme and Thomas baptised 16 July 1846 also at St James Birch in Rusholme.

Is ir possible he was born Sidebotham??’thx
Variant spellings were very common in the period in question.
I have been trying to locate Thomas and Sarah after the 1851 census but with no success.  They are in Crumpsell Manchester in 1841 and Thomas's occupation is gardener, which corresponds with the occupation given on the baptisms for Eliza, Mary, John, Thomas and Joseph.

The baptism referenced for Chapel en le Frith 1815 is for a Thomas Sidebotham who was the son of Lydia Sidebotham and he was baptised on 1 February 1815.
A few choices, I’m not sure about Sidebothan, then  change to Sidebottom,

Further up the tree they are already Sidebottom .

It's Chapel en le Frith, Derbyshire, not Chapel le Fifth....but then I see his profile says died in Australia, not Derbyshire.

Thx.

It’s very confusing as to where Thomas and Sarah died. 1record has uk and the other Creswick Victoria Australia at Creswick cemetery with son Thomas.

I’m not sure if they immigrated with son John?
I am not sure that the death date of 1893 in Creswick Victoria Australia is the correct information for your Thomas Sidebottom.  There is a family notice in the Ballarat Star newspaper dated Saturday 8 April 1893 (trove.nla.gov.au) which reads "The friends of Mr Thomas Sidebottom junior are respectfully invited to follow the remains of his late beloved father to the place of interment.....".  Also the findagrave link for that burial lists the following information for the deceased "father - Thomas; mother - Omeara Margaret; born Port Philip;died Red Gully".
Thx

I think Thomas and Sarah died uk.

My main issue is

Sidebottom and Sidebotham and who his parents are.
On ancestry some have. His parents as Samuel 1790 and Sarah 1790 nee Rowbottom
I found a record

Thomas Sidebottom b1815, Moston Lancashire England

No one appears to know who his parents were although some have

Samuel Sidebottom and Sarah Rowbotom
Identifying Thomas's parents will be a process of elimination by researching the extended families of all the 'Thomas Sidebottom/Sidebotham' baptisms within a 10-15 year time frame.

Of the three baptisms I listed above I have been able to eliminate the Thomas Hadfield Sidebottom who is on the 1851 census 'unmarried' and with his parents plus there is a burial for him on 3 February 1871 at Old St George Stalybridge .  I can also the Thomas Sidebotham the son of Henry and Harriet Sidebotham - this Thomas did not marry and he died in Ramsey Isle of Man in 1875.

Regards
Many thx, it’s difficult as a identical Thomas, wife Sarah and son Thomas died Victoria, Australia and are buried at  creswick cemetery, Victoria.

That’s where son John originally lived as my great grandfather was born there.

John married Sarah Ellen Dimmick in Victoria 1870, she was also from uk.

I can’t find any travel documents to see who came here.

How about this one... Thomas Sidebotham, baptised 5 Feb 1815 in Blackley, Lancashire, England (which is 2.2 miles from Moston). Parents, Thomas and Mary.
