Hitting a brick wall with the father of Alexander William Douglass 1758-1792. Know father Samuel Douglass but he is not the one who went to Missouri. He had a land grant for Madison Cty, Kentucky and lived near Crab Orchard, KY. I am currently reading 18th Century Settlers Along the banks of Muddy Creek by the author of Piedmont Trails, 9/15/2018.

Madison County was not formed until 1785. It was Lincoln County before that so, you may want to search that location too. There is some information about records on FamilySearch for Madison County, Kentucky. You can also look at KY Kinfolk. Counties changed alot back then so I always check the history of the county to see if I should also look in another county.

There is also a RootsSearch on the right side of your ancestors profiles. Sign into it with the same email and password that you sign into WikiTree with. You can find several search links. FamilySearch is a good place to look and it is free.
