This is https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Lapp-312. The Wikitree profile has the link to the 1851 census of Canada, showing him as a resident of Cramahe Township (on Lake Ontario), married with oldest child 15 years old. Ancestry.com has a record showing him in Cramahe Township already in 1848 - but nothing before that. The 1851 census does indicate that he was born in Canada.

So this really should be tagged "Canada" so that some Canadian experts can weigh in.

Just a question out of curiousity: when I click the link in the profile, it takes one to the familysearch record, with no image available. The FS record give subdistrict of Brighton, Northumberland County, Canada West. The FS record does not show Cramahe Township. What am I missing?

I'm sorry, I should have been more specific. You can see the image at ancestry.com

(behind pay wall). The heading on the next page specifies that this is for "Brighton in the County of Northumberland Comprising That Part Formerly Cramahe and Presque Isle Point."

If you don't have an ancestry account. You can find images on the library and archives of canada website. https://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.item/?app=Census1851&op=&img&id=e002360136 https://central.bac-lac.gc.ca/.item/?app=Census1851&op=&img&id=e002360137
