The New Zealand Company of the early 1800's...

I'd like to hear from anyone who may have,  in their tree, emigrants to New Zealand in the middle 1800's and were involved with the New Zealand Company...This company was active in selling land that they didnt actually own...emigrants arrived in their chosen new country, mainly from Britian, to find they were unable to support themselves. This company, supported by the British government of the day, had nothing but contempt for the native owners of New Zealand, the Maori.

Don't have any ancestors involved but have added a link on the Company from the online Enclopedia of NZ with their views.
