Setting up a tree for extended family member

Have been asked by my daughters elderly grandfather-in-law to continue research on his tree that was started by his mother in the 1930s.  I already have a Wiki account, but not used it for myself.  When I logged on, I came up and added person unrelated, but it seems to add to my tree and not establish a new one so I can add his Y-DNA results.  How do I best start his tree with me as manager and then be able to add his Y-DNA info that he gave me.

Hi Lynette,

Each WikiTree member has their own account but there is only one tree here. As you've indicated, you can use the New Person option from the Add drop-down menu to add an unrelated person.

For living individuals, if they'd like to share their DNA test info here, they must register at WikiTree (at least as Family Member) and enter their own DNA test info. They can make you a manager of their profile, if desired. If a profile already exists, you can add their email address and invite them to join.

For deceased individuals, if you manage their DNA test info and their profile here, you can enter their DNA test info on their profile.

See the DNA FAQ for more info.

Hi! Very easy. It is one big tree. Continue to add ancestors and descendants of your in-laws grandparent. After you have completed the information you are going to enter, send a link from the profile tree view. My extended and distant cousins appreciate this view the most.
