I have put in over 4,100 Profiles and now I'm seeing where my Profiles are turning up Orphans or they have been taking over by someone else.

Hello Patrick.

This help page explains what happened (see 2.2 Open and Public Profiles)

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:Unresponsive_Profile_Managers

... WikiTree will send them a personal e-mail message and then wait another seven days. If after a week they have not replied to us, WikiTree will orphan the requested profile or profiles so that they can be adopted or merged.

Can you give us a link to one of the profiles which is now an orphan, please? so we can take a look and see if anything stands out.

There is also the possibility that, apart from today's question, you haven't been on WikiTree for several months and did not reply to a query, so you have been marked as an Unresponsive Profile Manager and some of your profiles have been orphaned.

My Grandfather Grenièr-1016, Great Grandfather Grenier-1018, Great,Great Grandfather Grenièr-1019. I can go back Hundreds and Hundreds of Years.  I put all of these Profiles in. I can go back and Adopt all of them back.  But I shouldn't have to do this.  How is it that some turn up as Orphans and now they are Adopted by other Managers.
Looking at your grandfather's profile, Grenièr-1016, you have not worked on it for three years (since 2017).  WikiTree is a fast-growing, evolving site which is based on volunteer input.  As I said in my answer before, if you did not reply to somebody's request (for instance, to be on the Trusted List) or other form of contact, the Team may well have decided you are no longer interested.  In this case, they would have orphaned your Public and Open profiles.
Once a profile is orphaned, it can be adopted by another WikiTreer.
Rose Haywood, I shouldn't have to answer someone about being on one of mine Profiles that I Manage from 200 - 250 Years ago.  I went and added someone before and when I was not watching her, she went and changed a lot of information that I put in and cost me a Headache for 2 days trying to remember everything I had in there.
Patrick - if someone adds incorrect information,  or deletes correct information, you can easily find what was there under the changes tab.

Depending on the type of change/s, you might even find it easier to revert the changes.
Patrick, not answering messages sent to you by another wikitreer is your option, but if Admin from Wikitree sends an email, as stated earlier, your profiles can be orphaned, based on the request of the person that had tried to contact you and had submitted the Unresponsive Profile Manager form.

If there is no response, 'normally' it is because the person is no longer interested in wikitree profiles or they are deceased.
Patrick you signed the Honor code which mean you must collaborate with others here on wikitree.

So if someone sends you an email requesting to be put on the trusted list or asking to add information, then you are honor bound to respond to that email, even if you are just asking them what info they want to add.

Signing the Honor code also means that your profiles do not belong to you.

You Manage your profiles, but they are not yours. This is the whole point of collaboration.

This would be a unique situation If, in fact, your experiencing an issue with profiles being orphaned in an automatic/unprovoked way, your best bet would be to contact the WikiTree Support via e-mail at info@wikitree.com for further assistance and guidance with this.

Good Luck! :-)

I just looked at a few of your profiles and they are totally unsourced. I don’t say this to shame you but if you have over 4000 profiles to source maybe you might want to welcome the help?
