Are last names of Swift, Swifte and Swyfte from different familys? [closed]

l am involved in constructing families from the baptismal, marriage, and burial records with the Swift surname from the  Lancashire parish records (see for further description of One Name Project). That my advertising smiley. Now the real question; I've been treating the Swift, Swyfte, and Swifte (common pre-1650 ) surnames as belonging to separate families, but I thought I would check with others first before I would go ahead.
