Adding numbers in a web link

I'm working on a profile and wanted to link to the house on Google Maps. So I grab the shortened link and type out the [ [ insert web link here | street address goes here ] ] .
My issue is that if I begin the street address with a number, like 608 S Whatever, the '608' disappears when displayed as a link.
Does anyone have a suggestion on what I'm doing wrong or how I can just make this work besides moving the link to different words in the sentence?

Thanks so much!

You appear to be using the internal link format for an external link.

Delete the "pipe" and leave a space between the URL and the text you want to display. I think that will fix the problem.
Holy moley. Second set of eyes to save the day!
I've been banging my head on this since last night and can't believe I did that.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.
