My heart skipped a beat when I found the death certificate for my 3rd great-grandmother in family search. The names of her parents were unknown until now.
My uncle had this to say, " Her father, name unknown at this time, was a Regent village manager & recruited laborers, translators, and others in Sierra Leone working for the Regent of Trinidad. Extant records show he made the Sierra Leone-Trinidad crossing at least 4 times. He may have even had a Sierra Leone wife; possibility this can be found in records showing the ship crossing data."
I have no clue where to begin or search for historical records or evidence. My guess, is to start with learning the history of Trinidad. If anyone has any suggestion, I am very eager :-) .
Thanks ahead of time!
Elisa
