Lookup Needed Mayflower. Doty #11 part 2 Silver Book

As far as I know, at the moment, the Mayflower Society says: that  Benjamin Doty b. 1691, son of Samuel and Jane (Harmon) Doty is not the same Benjamin Doty who married Abigail Whitehead. Could someone double check this in the current Silver Book Doty Vol 11 Part 2.

Is there is more current information, making them the same person?

Anne,

Vol. 11, part 2 says (p.7): "The Benjamin Doughty who married Abigail Whitehead in Jamaica, Long Island, NY (license 23 Apr 1720) was identified as 'of Flushing, carpenter.' His guardianship of Samuel Stockton, who descended from the Long Island Doughty and Whitehead families is further evidence that Benjamin Doughty, husband of Abigail Whitehead, was descended from Rev. Francis Doughty of Long Island, and not from Edward Doty of the Mayflower." If you would like the citations that are given to support this, just let me know.

Hi Jen, I’m not a member of the Mayflower Project but I worked on the Benjamin Doty and Samuel Doty Sr. profiles. It seems Benjamin, son of Samuel, who lived in Piscataway, New Jersey is mixed up with a Benjamin Doughty from New York, still to be found. The book about the two family is misleading, I’m still confused about some of the details. Thank you.
Thank you Jen, I've added the quote to both profiles.

Ellen, so it's less confusing, I removed the death date from the Mayflower Benjamin, which should make them less easy to confuse. Unless the Mayflower Society changes their minds we need to leave them as two profiles. Thank you for working on them.

I'm looking at the profiles side by side, I think the birth 1691 and first paragraph needs to be removed from Doty-78 (Abigail's husband) because it does belong to the Mayflower Benjamin Doty-3096. Without that birth, there isn't any reference to Piscataway in the Doty Doten book, so the sentence about living in Piscataway doesn't have a source that I can tell.

I agree. From what I can tell, the Mayflower Benjamin and his  brother Samuel were born in NJ. Samuel Sr died there. The N.Y. Benjamin was probably born in Queens.  Charles Doughty, grandson of Francis Doughty, had a son Benjamin, there is no profile for him. I think that is the husband of Abigail, hopefully I find sources.

I will correct the parents for the N.Y. Benjamin and it will help if I use Doughty rather than Doty for him.
Thank you.
