How to correct a wrongly assigned birth surname and Wilitree ID

Question

Tweedie-56 isn’t a Tweedie. It was wrongly believed she was the daughter of Thomas Tweedie, but Thomas later was found to have died 5 years earlier. Her real father was James McKay.   Her “last name at birth” and Wiki ID still show to be Tweedie. I cannot see how to fix those.

Only the profile manager, or member of the trusted list are allowed to edit the last name at birth (lnab)

Hi Richard!  It looks like you've already been in touch with the Profile Manager about this, and it looks to me as if she agreed with you and wants it corrected.  She probably doesn't realize that unless she adds you to the Trusted List, you can't do it.  

You can send her another message asking to be added to the Trusted List, or use the functionality in WikiTree under the Privacy Tab.  It is easier for her if you use the request link on the Privacy page, but she might still need an explanation since it seems that was over a year ago when you two were talking about it last.

I am on the trusted list for Tweedie-56, but even a trustee cannot change a  Wiki I D.  At least, I do not see a way of doing it.  It seems once a person is created their “last name at birth” and Wiki ID, even though in error, cannot be corrected.

By the way, Mary Tweedie, the Profile Manager, is deceased.

There is a link to edit the Last Name At Birth that only shows to the Profile Manager and those on the Trusted List.

Hi Richard.  I can't see your name on the Trusted List for that profile.  Hopefully you've been able to sort this out through the deceased member report.  I'm sorry for your loss of a family member, however distant.
