Do I change the spelling or use the one on their marriage certificate?

Have been advised by someone in this "immediate" family that I am using the WRONG spelling for their surname.  Now I looked up their marriage certificate and the name is spelled the same as I have it.  

Do I change this or what??  They are insisting I change the spelling of their surname to Rimington where I have it as Remington.  Will check again to see if I can find any children born to Ivy Pearl Hird who married a Remington/Rimington.

You can add the other spelling to Other Last Names until a birth or baptism source is found with the other spelling.

The husband’s mother’s family are on wikitree as Rimington

But as sources are scarce I wouldn’t recommend changes until more are found. As Linda said alternate spellings can be entered in other last names.

I realize this as this is the woman who is telling me I have spelled the name wrong.  She is tying to get the birth certificate.  As Gordon Remington Syms was born in London hopefully she does get it.  If not, how much would it cost me to get this birth certificate?  Also how would I go about getting a birth certificate fo England?

What do you advise me todo?  The woman Ivy Pearl Hird married (record shows) Gordon Remington Syms but he is obviously born later - another family that hands down names.  Goosh!
