Belatedly I did a search within a copy of Evelyn Duke Brandenbergers 1979 book 'The Duke Family, Vol. 2' and found this reference from From:
St. Paul's Parish Vestry Book February 28, 1709/10 .- Ordered that Henry Mills, Joseph Poors (Peers), Jas Brown, Henry Farmur, Col. Duke's Quarter, Roger Smith, Charles Rhodes, Wm Howlett, Etc. to assist John Glenn to clear the road ( P. 401.
This shows land owned by Col. Henry Duke was in close proximity to land owned by Charles Rhodes. The WikiTree profile for your Charles Rhodes suggest he was born in 1725, but the record is from 1709. Was his father really John Rhodes, or was there another Charles Rodes between John Rodes and Charles Rodes b. 1725?
