I'm new to Wikitree, but I would like to join the German /Germany Project
I have German ancestors on both my parents sides ,and am interested in the Volga-Germans and the Black sea areas,and more about the Black Forest area in Germany
The main Surnames in interested in are on my Fathers side are: Gammel / Gamel, other misspellings are Hammel, Gummel, Gumbol, and many more. My Mothers side are :Schaan / Schan / T- Schan, Kraft, Volk, Welder,
Most of my German ancestors went from Germany to Russia and then from there to North Dakota and a few other states or to Canada .
My Gammel side is suppose to have come from Scotland in the 1600's and I would like to comfirm this but I need to find out more info on the German ancestors first,
