I know this isn't massively helpful, but unless other evidence can be found to identify the John Streate on the charter, it is impossible to say. Looking at the number of John Streets(Streat/Streete) kicking around in the 17th century I would say probably not.

I would also say this John Street is probably not the father of Anthony who went to VA either and has been linked to him due to his Gunpowder Plot fame.

I haven't looked at the source, which is apparently 'The Street Genealogy', but I would look closely to see what evidence they present for this family link (and evidence of use of arms etc); as a son not being mentioned in a will because he is '25 and thinking about going to VA, so not around' (see profile) is hugely fishy. And there doesn't seem to be a baptism etc. or anything else for Anthony the son.

I actually have that book. Will have to look into it and see. It was published 1895.

No, different John Streete.  The Charter was signed in London by a group of basically benefactors.  This John Streete never went to Virginia--check record of original settlers; no Streete listed.

True. As stated above lots of fishy stuff going around.  I am going my big Y-700 dns test will clear things up on this regard. Should be back by the middle / end of this month. Until then I’m building the street name study and I intend to get to the bottom of this.

One step I want to do is take one of the rev Nicholas street line and compare y-dna with them and see how far back we are related. Then compare with some of the other 6 street lines in the US.

Also it was the second charter which makes it around the time that the Virginia street came over, 1609 was signing date.
Hey Ed!

How'd the ydna comparison go? I have Streets in my direct line and I'm really curious!

Thanks,

Lindsey
