Delete a person

Some time ago I created Macklin-504.  I realized after that there was another profile Mechlin-36 who is the same person.  I cannot seem to merge the two individuals but I added the name Macklin as an alternative last name on Mechlin-36 profile.  Is there a way to delete Macklin-504.  This person is on the list for the Source-a-Thon and do not wish for there to be further confusion.  I am the manager of the profile for Macklin-504, and I am ok with deleting or what ever is the best thing to do.  Any help would be appreciated.

Why can't you merge them?

(Profiles don't get deleted.)

After I posted the question I was able to find where to merge.  I thought I had merged these 2 individuals before but I must have thought I had done this.  I did not see his son who is related to me on Macklin-504.  I thought I had added Macklin-504 as the father for Macklin-503.  Macklin-503 is listed on Mechlin-36 and I am the profile manager for Macklin-503.  Not sure how I did this.

You only just proposed the merge today. You need to wait for one of the PMs or people on the trusted list of the other profile to agree to the merge. If nothing happens in 30 days, you can then go ahead.
