I added tags for autosomal and gedmatch to try and bring your post to the attention of more people.
Thank you! I think there is also a way to use Mtdna as a proof but it is confusing. Hope my brother will send in the kit I got him soon, that should help.

I started checking out this problem, but had to go, so have come back and edited my answer....

By GEDMatch, you do not match either of the Kendalls (Donald is Cynthia's father).  However, you do match 10.5cM on chromosome 2 with Ted Cash.  He is a 4th cousin, once removed thru John Eddings

Ted Cash though shares 26.6cM on Chr 17 with both of the Kendalls.  Ted Cash and Donald Kendall are 3rd cousins through Andrew Blackburn (1811-1889) Andrew Blackburn, which has been confirmed by DNA.

It's odd because you have the same relation to both Ted Cash and Don Kendall (4th cousin once removed thru John Eddings), and while you share 10.5cM DNA with Ted, you share none with Don.

So, I am beginning to wonder if you have have another relationship to Ted Cash or if it is just spurious match.  10.5cM is after all not much of a match.

In conclusion, I can not confirm the relationship of yourself to Eddings using available DNA information.  I guess it's possible, but can not be confirmed.

Also, small world! ...we ourselves are 11th cousins (in theory) and I'm also an 11th cousin (in theory) with Ted Cash.  Both of these relationships though are well beyond the limits of autosomal DNA testing.

How are we related?

Best Regards, Sherry

We are related thru New Netherland settlers.

Philippe Antoni du Trieux   and

Jaquemine Noirett

He was born 1583 into a prominent family of Belgium and Holland and then in the New Netherlands.  Unfortunately, Jaquemine passed away in France, but her children emigrated.

There is a really nice feature at the bottom of every Wiki tree profile, where you can easily check genealogical relationships.

Oh, neat, I will check that out!

Thank you!
That explains some of my french origins!

Thanks again!
