New member introducing myself

Since 2000, I have been researching my 5th Great Grandfather James Conklin b.1763 location unknown, and his sons Jacob Conklin b.1790, and James Conklin b. 1800, suspected both born Florida/Warwick, Orange, NY. Family details are on both LDSFamilySearch and Ancestry.com. Jacob married Johanna Armstrong b.1796 in Florida, Orange, NY. James and his sons moved to Owego, Tioga, NY about 1835. My brick wall is when and from where did James Conklin arrive in America? Is there any other Conklins out there from this family?

If you are also looking for others that may be connected to your family than you can look at the list. On your profile in the top right corner hover over your WikiTree ID. When the list drops, go to "Index for Conklin" and click on it. That will show you every profile on WikiTree with that surname.

It will also show you various spellings in the top right corner. Those are links that will show you all the profiles with the surname spelled with that variation.

Hi Tom,

Welcome to WikiTree and G2G!

If you upgrade your membership you will be able to start building your family tree. Using the information that you do have. When you get to the profile that you are having a hard time finding sources for come ask here in G2G and connect the profile. Do this the same way that you connected yours to this post. That will make it easier for other members to help you find sources for that profile.

I hope that you will enjoy WikiTree! There are a lot of members who would be happy to help you. smiley
