Category for "Woodmen of the World"

Question

I found a FSP for Woodman of the World (Woodmen of the World (usually plural)} at https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Woodman_of_the_World. I could not find a category associated with the FSP. I understanding is that W.O.W. is a secret society, but not sure.

Anyway, could a category be created for this? I have a few tombstones from a cemetery in Dallas Co., TX. that have the orgarnization's emblem. I would like to link the associated profiles to a category for the oganization.

My family was associated with Woodmen of The World. It seemed to me that the society was an insurance company.

I was pretty sure it wasn't a secret society. As kids, we went to a WOW camp and learned to shoot guns and bows, learned to cook outdoors, and had a hygiene class. It was enormous fun for us kids and the summer break for the parents was enjoyable as well. :)

Betty, is it the same thing later (1970s) known as Modern Woodmen of America? They were an insurance company that I recall sponsored civic oration contents in thousands of schools across the country.

No, it wasn't a secret society, but a fraternal organization or fraternal benefit society, as were the Foresters.

Natalie, the title on the space page needs an edit: WoodmEn of the World.  I wan't paying attention when I created the page and now it needs fixin'.

Well you can change it in the edit of the space page, but the URL will remain "woodman". If you really want to completely change it, create the new page with the correct name and then merge the pages.

Something tells me there is already a category. Do you know how to search for a category using WikiTree+?

Also you can try using the category tool while editing a profile.
