This is a 1949 fall photo of my father-in-law LeRoi Nelson and my husband. My husband says that he is wearing his favorite cowboy hat, and he wore it for so many years that it suddenly disappeared one day.

Alexis what a magnificent photo of your father in law and your husband, what a dashing looking man

And your husband look adorable thank you for sharing
Thank you Susan for your sweet comment. I know you lost your parents when you were young. My husband and I were so fortunate to have LeRoi in our lives. He was the most wonderful man, and we depended on him for so much. When  he developed cancer in 1972–we were devastated.

Not a terribly old picture (1989), but when I was growing up, one of our fall activities was to gather wood for the winter. We lived on a farm in Minnesota, and heated our house with wood. As you can imagine, it took a bit of wood to do that, but we had plenty of it on our land. Here we're coming back with a load, Dad driving the tractor.

Great picture! I  can almost smell the wood and hear that old tractor. Thanks for sharing.

My grandmother, Oma M Allison-Rammel (1895-1995) lived to the age of 100 ...

There is one photo in a family album of her that is believed to have been taken in the "Autumn" of 1898 ... so she was a young gal of age 3.

Well, I went a little overboard. Sometimes I want to help when I see a picture that could be improved with more contrast, maybe some light editing to get rid of distracting defects. But this time for whatever reason, I decided to try my hand at colorizing it. What do you think, too much?

looks good .... I'll add it to my collection ...with credit to you. ...thanks  Bill

This is a composite photo of 2 originals taken at the same time when the family gathered together at my aunt's home and worked in the garden.

Picture needs to be resized. When I looked at the original (right-click, and view image), I could see the weird electric lawnmower the one guy was pushing. Interesting.
Yes, it was resized right after the first posting.
Yeah, I probably saw it right when you posted it. Looks good now.
