According to the Mayflower Society, William Soule and Keziah Gifford had eleven children (listed below). There has been a claim that the couple had a 12th child named Joseph Sowle who went on to marry a woman named Charity Tripp. Does anyone have any insight into the birth of this additional child?

1. Jacob Soule, born ca. 1745
2. Mary Soule, born ca. 1747
3. Unnamed Soule, born ca. 1749
4. Unnamed Soule, born ca. 1751
5. Nathaniel Soule, born ca. 1753
6. Samuel Soule, born 1756
7. Job Soule, born 27 August 1757
8. Hannah Soule, born ca. 1759
9. Peace Soule, born ca. 1761
10. Eleanor Soule, born ca. 1763
11. Recompense Soule, born ca. 1765

I was playing around with the brand new Mayflower Database on Family Search and based on those records, the GSMD considers Joseph to be the child of William's first wife, Jemima. Since this database is based on the Silver Books and on approved member applications, it may be the closest thing we have to being certain for now.
"Community Trees," database, FamilySearch (https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:QDJH-LN8 : accessed 8 October 2020), entry for Joseph Soule, cites sources; "Mayflower Pilgrim Genealogies" file (2:2:2:MMXD-DP8), submitted 24 February 2020 by FamilySearch.

Some of us have been round with this topic before. Jemima Baker's father died intestate in 1729. Distribution of his estate was made in 1733/4. She and her siblings received equal portions (oldest got a double portion.) A second distribution was made in 1779 of the widow's thirds after her decease. Jemima was deceased at the time. to the Heirs of Jemima Sole deceased, namely to Edward and Jemimah Baker the wife of Daniel Baker one acre and 28 rods appraised at the sum of 100 pounds.

This was a court ordered distribution so would have included all her heirs, unlike some wills that are up to the whim of the testator.

This of course then opens the question, were the siblings Lillis and Silas also children of Jemima?
