Parents of William John Carson

+1 vote
I'm struggling to find the parents of WIlliam John Carson, born c1832-34 in Belfast (according to death notice), died 19 Jun 1903, Lyttelton, New Zealand.

I have his death printout, but sadly his father is not named. Unnamed father's occupation is given as clergyman.

It looks like Alexander Carson, with wife Jane, are the most likely candidates to be his parents (see Carson-3981 profile), but I am not certain. Some help with this would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.

Thanks, Marion. I have a similar source attached to the profile, so a second is helpful. I guess I wasn't sure it was correct. Do I assume it's correct if other sources are not found? I guess so.

I found other children of Alexander and Jane as well, but something isn't sitting right just yet...

Then I discovered a Rev. Alexander Carson (who had some Rev. sons) who was a Presbyterian-turned-Baptist minister. I am currently pursuing the possibility that we're part of that line.
