Person listed correctly

Hi

I am hoping someone could help me ease my confusion, my grandfather changed his identity sometime between the 1920-1930, but definitely no later, I have him listed as William McKinley James (Pell), Pell is birth name, William James McKinley is the identity that he lived out the rest of his life as, I would like to add his birth name to the tree.  Should I remove the (Pell) from the way it currently is and just add his birth name as a sibling?  I haven't been able to contribute as much time to this as I would like because of homeschooling, but I am finding time now here and there. Its a confusing family mystery that I am determined to solve.

Thanks

Just remove the "Pell" from the Other Last Names field.  It's already listed as the Last Name At Birth, and you have the name he changed to correctly under Current last name.
Thank you!!!
It will always show the (Pell), just as it does for a married woman who changed her last name to that of her husband.  But this way it doesn't repeat itself with (Pell) aka Pell -- plus it lets the casual looker know right away that there was a name change.
